Cs 371 - blog post #1 - Kim Browne
Hi everyone, my name is Kimberly Browne, and I'm a 3rd-year communications student! I love music and think Spotify stands out from every other music platform. I make many playlists and can find different songs with some of the features that Spotify has. Discovery weekly is a Spotify-generated playlist that releases 30 songs every week based on your music taste. Another feature called "go to radio" plays similar songs to the one you're currently playing, and when I'm making my playlists, the "enhanced" feature adds similar ones to your playlist. I find it funny that there's a constant argument between people choosing the two major streaming platforms, Apple Music, versus Spotify. However, because of these features, being able to see friends' listening activity and the app's clean layout, I switched from Apple Music to Spotify. If you like making playlists and finding new music/genres, consider making Spotify your new music platform!
Hello Kimberly!! I am also a Spotify user and prefer it over the other music platforms. I personally don't make a lot of my own playlists but I love listening to other playlists that are available on the app. Whether you’re are looking for a playlist to listen to at gym, just relaxing at home, or running errands there is always a playlist for you. Overall Spotify is such an easy and enjoyable app to use that has endless options for all music tastes.
ReplyDeleteHi Kimberly! I also find the features of Spotify, specifically the playlists and the weekly curated lists, a major benefit to the platform. I also really like the fact that Spotify as podcasts integrated into the app, rather than a separate app (like Apple). I, however, am an Apple Music user because I am on a family plan, but I'm considering switching. Honestly, this post might be the push I need! Anyway, I really enjoyed reading your post.
ReplyDeleteHey Kimberly, great post! I also prefer Spotify to other music platforms. Personally, the ways I use Spotify vary. Sometimes, I will look up playlists made by people that I don't know. Other times, I'll use my own playlists that I have made over the course of the last few years. I also have recently started asking my friends for their playlists because I enjoy hearing what my friends listen to, especially when their music taste is different than mine. I'm also interested in podcasts so I use Spotify to listen to them.
ReplyDeleteHello Kimberly, great post! I currently use Apple Music but have been gong back and forth on going back to Spotify. After reading your post you have got me thinking about switching over to Spotify, you mention some aspects that Apple Music just doesn't live up to. I really enjoy the idea of having a generated playlists made up for you based on your taste of music and what you like that month; I find that very unique and interesting. Although Spotify and Apple Music have very similar roles in the music industry, they both have distinctive attributes that make them different from one another. You may have switched my mind on Spotify, I really enjoyed reading you post!
ReplyDeleteHi Kimberly! Nearly two years ago I switched to Spotify from apple music and I too agree that its clean layout and the features it provides makes it better than apple music! The ability to see what my friends have been listening to or going and listening to the playlists that were created for me certainly makes me enjoy the app far more than apple music. Another bonus is the Spotify wrapped! The excitement of seeing your highest listened to artists and most listened to songs are always a fun experience to compare with what your friends have!
