Noah Weinstein CS 371 Ice Breaker


Hi everyone, my name is Noah Weinstein, I am a third-year communications student with a minor in criminology. I am a big sports fan, specifically hockey, which is why something that I find interesting is an Instagram account called @kaybee67_jerseys (https://www.instagram.com/kaybee67_jerseys/). The user redesigns a variety of NHL jerseys and sells them to his followers. He often bases his designs on the jerseys of other sports teams from the same city, or puts a modern spin on another jersey from the team’s history. For example, the design that originally drew me to the account is one that had the Toronto Raptors logo and colours on a hockey jersey with Auston Matthews’ name and number on the back. After attending a Maple Leafs game and seeing someone wearing that jersey, I discovered the account and enjoyed looking through all of the different designs that the user had created. Another personal favourite of mine is one which combines the Anaheim Ducks logo and colours with those of the Los Angeles Angels, featuring Trevor Zegras’ name and number on the back. I like the way that the logos are overlapped and I think the colours work very nicely together. I love looking through all of the new designs that the creator releases and I encourage all of you to check them out too!

    Hello Noah, great post! I really resonated with this account as I'm an avid sports fan (mostly hockey and football). I found this account very interesting in a way that it has created a space for their own market. Although there is a market for jerseys already, the way this account puts their own customization on these jerseys that no one else does is pretty cool. Social media has given a platform to individuals who wish to be creative and explore with their own custom products. Thanks for posting!

Cs 371 - blog post #1 - Kim Browne

  Hi everyone, my name is Kimberly Browne, and I'm a 3rd-year communications student! I love music and think Spotify stands out from every other music platform. I make many playlists and can find different songs with some of the features that Spotify has. Discovery weekly is a Spotify-generated playlist that releases 30 songs every week based on your music taste. Another feature called "go to radio" plays similar songs to the one you're currently playing, and when I'm making my playlists, the "enhanced" feature adds similar ones to your playlist. I find it funny that there's a constant argument between people choosing the two major streaming platforms, Apple Music, versus Spotify. However, because of these features, being able to see friends' listening activity and the app's clean layout, I switched from Apple Music to Spotify. If you like making playlists and finding new music/genres, consider making Spotify your new music platform!
