CS371 Ice Breaker - Alexandra Remmling

Hi everyone, my name is Alexandra but I go by Lexi for short. I’m currently in my fourth year of Communication studies. I really enjoy traveling and getting to explore new countries and cultures. For the past couple years, I have been watching a Youtube couple named Kara and Nate. They travel all around the world and share their journey with viewers on their Youtube channel. The reason why I enjoy watching their videos is because they not only go on very fancy and lavish trips but they also go on more simple trips to destinations that wouldn’t be considered a top tourist destination. It has definitely given me a greater appreciation of the world and opened my eyes to many unique places there are that I should travel to. One of their most recent trips was a 14 day luxury cruise to the North Pole, which I found very fascinating as they were some of the first people to get to experience such a neat opportunity. I also don’t have the longest attention span when it comes to watching videos so I really enjoy that there videos are usually no longer than 10 or 15 min.

  1. Hi, Lexi, great discussion post. I'm also a huge fan of traveling videos, where I love discovering new interesting places around the world where you can learn about different cultures and traditions. Youtube is an excellent platform with a wide variety of videos that can target any audience, whether it is cooking, comedy, or traveling. Also, I find it cool to embrace other people's cultures as it opens up your perspective about the fascinating places around the world. I like how you stated that these videos are not too long as my attention span isn't too big. I’ll definitely check them out!
